We are a quickly-growing group of Bowen Island residents concerned with the impending installation of wireless smart meters on our properties. The email list is a means of sharing information related to our efforts to prevent installation of the meters.

Legal Action to Stop Smart Meters in BC

Citizens for Safe Technology has filed a complaint under Section 47 of the Utilities Commission Act requesting an injunctive freeze on the wireless component of the Smart Meter Program.

Four Step Stop Plan:

1. Place non-consent notice on meter.
Any notice MUST show your name, address, signature and date.
Click here to download.

2. Inform BC Hydro directly. Email & Register Mail letter. Send a copy to Bowen Municipality.
Click here to download.

3. Order a meter lock for $25 from www.smartmeterlock.com.
Alternatively, devise your own. You MUST ensure that the meter can still be read.

4. Inform others.
